Offered here is a modification to be carried out by us on your own Volvo 440/460/480 B18FT Turbo engine’s EZ210K ignition module. Please note, these modules come with an orange, blue or purple sticker. We have photographed a blue one here, but the operation is the same regardless of label colour.

The modification completely removes the boost pressure limit found in the factory Volvo ignition module (shown above).

The result, unlike some other less-elegant modifications keeps the original ignition map and drivability totally unaffected – only the limit is removed.

With this ECU inplace you should not exceed 15psi of boost if are using the original injectors and turbocharger. The injectors will be at their limit.

Typically the standard engine internals with an upgraded turbo (T25, T28, etc) with suitable intercooling, adequate fueling from larger injectors matched with a modified or partially bypassed air-mass meter should be capable of running up to 22psi of boost safely on UK super-unleaded (premium) 99 octane pump fuel. On a correctly setup engine you should make 220-230hp at this level.

Note: You cannot continue to use the factory boost control solenoid with this modification. You must switch to some other form of boost control such as bleed valve, PRV, electronic boost control, etc.
