You can use a single coil with a distributor or for the ultimate in spark performance you can use a coil per cylinder.
It is ideal for Adaptronic installations and other ECU’s that output a low current positive ignition trigger.
A great coil for people struggling to maintain spark in a high performace boosted or nitrous powered engine. The closest thing you will get to CDI without the expense and complication.
4 of these coils are used in one of our demonstrater 1/4 mile Renault 5 drag cars – running 2.4 bar of boost pressure and 125hp direct port nitrous oxide. Nothing else could keep the spark alive at those levels, and we tried a lot. Well-known high output wasted spark packs would drop spark where these show not even the slightest hint of missfire.
They are each about the size of 2 decks of playing cards and have a spark-plug style HT terminal (aprox 5mm OD)
